About Roots

Roots is not your typical festival.
It’s a living, breathing village. A co-created prayer. A remembering.
Held annually on Dharug Country (Webbs Creek, NSW), Roots Women’s Embodiment Festival brings together 600+ women to move, rest, rage, release, and rewild in sisterhood.

Here, the feminine is not a brand… she is a force.
Roots is what happens when women return to their bodies and the earth.

Our spaces are trauma-informed, earth-honouring, culturally inclusive, and rich with artistic expression, ceremonial depth, and nervous system nourishment.

This is role is calling to those who want to be a part of holding the logistics and energetics of our workshop spaces - create not just so our facilitators can be seen, but so that we can co-create this necessary serving for the collective.

The Role

As Space Co-Ordinator, you are the sacred anchor of the workshop spaces - the bridge between facilitators, the production team, and the rhythm of the festival itself. You are warm, grounded, and efficient, ensuring the flow of each workshop in your dedicated space is supported, seen, and smoothly held.

You’ll be the point of contact for all facilitators within your allocated spaces, making sure they're supported with tech (mics, sound, music), setup, and general readiness — allowing them to focus on offering their full medicine. You’ll also ensure each session begins and ends on time, liaising with the Delivery Manager around program flow and flagging any delays or changes with grace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact for facilitators in your 1–2 allocated spaces throughout the weekend, including upon their arrival to site

  • Ensure smooth delivery of all workshops, available 20 minutes before each workshop starts to help the facilitate ground and set up

  • Support with microphone/headset setups, phone/music audio connection

  • Liaise with Production Team re: sound or lighting requirements and issues

  • Communicate with Delivery Manager around programming changes, timing issues, or space needs

  • Keep an eye on room energy, participant comfort, and facilitator needs, and provide progress reports to Delivery Manager, including prompt notice of any issues

  • Maintain the vibe and aesthetics of the space (incense/candles lit, water jugs topped up, music on etc.)

Who You Are

  • A calm and capable multitasker who thrives in a live event environment

  • Tech-confident: comfortable troubleshooting a speaker or microphone in the moment

  • Highly organised with excellent communication skills

  • Warm, approachable, and professional when interacting with facilitators and participants

  • Deeply understands the importance of holding space — energetically & logistically — for transformational work to occur

You embody the Roots Principles

  • Sovereignty: You hold strong presence and clarity, grounded in your own truth, while being deeply attuned to the needs of the collective. You can make decisions with confidence and compassion, maintaining boundaries while honouring the flow of the space.

  • Safety: You bring awareness of trauma-informed practice and cultural sensitivity to your role. You ensure that the physical and energetic spaces are welcoming, inclusive, and held in integrity - places where women can soften, explore, and unfold safely.

  • Synergy: You thrive in collaboration, moving with flexibility and responsiveness. You communicate clearly, work hand-in-hand with facilitators, volunteers, and the core team, and bring a spirit of generosity and solution-orientation to your coordination.

  • Sacred: You understand that holding space is more than logistics - it is tending to an altar, creating an environment for transformation. You approach this role with reverence, weaving beauty, care, and devotion into the spaces you hold.

Bonus Skills (not required, but valued)

  • Experience with microphones and basic sound tech skills (eg. patching)

  • Facilitator or spaceholder expereince

  • Experience working in women's embodiment spaces, healing communities, or festivals

    Employment Type: Paid Contracted Volunteer
